Redevelopment ensures excitement for wheelchair users, accompanying persons and club representatives
In football stadiums, venue regulations apply, which stipulate that 1% of all spaces must be reserved for wheelchair users. Hardly any club in the German Bundesliga meets these requirements. The new wheelchair spaces developed by goracon and installed for testing purposes in the Eintracht Frankfurt Commerzbank Arena could provide a remedy. The seats for persons accompanying the wheelchair users are attached using the rail guide from goracon and can be moved forwards and backwards in a flexible manner. The capacity of the wheelchair spaces can thus be increased by up to 50%. A positive side-effect is that the spaces can be marketed in line with market requirements if they are not used by wheelchair users. This was not possible until now because the places for accompanying persons hardly allowed any view of the playing field.
The new wheelchair spaces were used for the first time during the Europa League match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Flora Tallinn and were met with enthusiasm by wheelchair users and accompanying persons as well as representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt.
